In a series in the sub-continent against Sri Lanka in 2003, New Zealand were all over their opponents as they made life really hard for the Sri Lankans in the entirety of the series.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat in the first test match of the series, Stephen Fleming led from the front and took his team almost single-handedly to a huge total. With help from Richardson and Styris, Fleming scored 274 runs with 28 boundaries and remained not out as he declared the innings for 515. He took more than 10 hours for this innings which remains his highest individual score in a career that has seen many joyous moments.
