- Allan Border shines with the ball:
Known for his batting skills and a number of runs he amassed in his career, Allan Border is arguably one of the best batsmen to have played the sport since its inauguration.
However, from time to time, Border also showed that he had the ability to pick wickets up and that he is more than a decent bowler. In the Australia-Asia Cup in Sharjah in 1990, Australia met New Zealand in the second game of the tournament and managed to set their neighbors a target of 261 thanks to a late assault from Border.
But the match was won in the second innings when Allan Border brought himself on and picked three crucial wickets just when his team needed and lifted his team to a 60- run victory. He ended up with figures of 6 overs, 1 maiden, 3/25 and showed that he was more than just a top class batsman.
