Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has followed the footsteps of the parent body BCCI and has invited applicants for various posts.
The advertisement made by the state body invites applications for the post of selectors, coaches, trainers and team managers as well. This is the first time when DDCA or any state association affiliated to BCCI has taken the step, as earlier, a state association was free to make such appointments.
BCCI, the parent body itself set an example for others when it invited applications for the post of Head Coach and selectors last year. The board followed the same procedure while appointing Ravi Shastri, as the Head Coach of Indian cricket team in the month of July this year as well. BCCI also appointed the team manager following the same process. This was probably a signal from the board to the state associations and now DDCA has followed it.
A notice from DDCA clearly mentions the eligibility criteria to apply for the post and along with that, the applicants have also been asked to clear the Conflict of Interest issue. Every applicant has to sign an undertaking that they are not coming under the scanner Conflict of interest issue, which has become a big headache for BCCI and other state associations as well.
The selection will be done through an interview process by the Cricket Affairs Committee of DDCA, which comprises of five members namely Madan Lal (Chairman), Saba Karim (member), GS Vivek (member), Sunil Valson (member) and Amita Sharma (member).
The CAC will conduct an interview of the applicants for the various posts on August 21.
