Decision On Andre Russell Likely In 2-3 Weeks

Andre Russell’s future lies in the hands of the independent anti-doping tribunal, who’ll be taking a decision in 2-3 weeks on whether the all-rounder, who missed the doping test three times during the past year, should be banned from playing or not.

The hard-hitting all-rounder was accused by the JADCO (Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission) in March this year for failing to file his whereabouts on three occasions between 1st January to 1st July 2015, which also amounts of failing a dope test. If found guilty, Russell will banned from playing cricket for a maximum of two years.

Patrick Foster, Russell’s lawyer, mentioned after both the parties made their final submissions in front of the panel on Thursday that, “They have promised a decision I think in the next two to three weeks, but a date would be sent to us shortly”.

A reputed batsman in the T-20 league around the world, Andre Russell opened about his thoughts on the case only once. Playing for Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League this year, he said these allegations and stressing and depressing. Following it, he also missed the T20 series against Pakistan in UAE in September.

Andre Russel has played 51 ODIs for West Indies and has scored 985 runs with an exciting strike-rate of 130.81. In T20I, he has played 43 matches and has 345 runs under his sleeves.
