Meanwhile, the technology will not be available for the final, which is set to be held in Lahore. Hawk Eye Innovations Ltd, the company handling the Hawk Eye technology, has refused to travel to Lahore for the final match, which is set to be played on March 5.
According to reports in The Dawn, the decision was taken in the aftermath of some poor umpiring decisions in the tournament. The Hawk Eye technology has been used by broadcasters during the the tournament but the umpires were not allowed to use it. But now the teams have got an opportunity to question the on-field umpire’s decision. As per the rules, both teams are allowed a limited number of unsuccessful challenges before they are barred from asking for a review for the remainder of the innings.
