When it comes to power hitting in cricket the first name that comes to mind is that of West Indies star Chris Gayle. The big Jamaican has taken the power-hitting to a whole new level in the game. His majestic knock of 175 runs off only 66 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the fifth edition of IPL is still fresh in every fan’s mind. While India has produced some of the best batsmen that the world has ever seen but not a single one who can match the hitting prowess of the West Indian. The likes of Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli has the potential to destroy any bowling lineup but when it comes to hitting sixes, very few can match Gayle.

But it seems India’s long wait of getting their own Chris Gayle might come to an end. And the batsman is Mayank Rawat. The school boy from Delhi has left one and all astonished with his powerful hitting during a school tournament. Playing for Bhawan School Dwarka, in the 26th Radhakishan Sanjay inter-school T20 tournament on Friday, the youngster played a majestic innings of 279 runs off only 77 balls. The monumental innings was studded with  14 fours and a mind-boggling 34 sixes.

Riding on Mayank’s blistering knock, his school posted a huge total of 350 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, Bharatiya Vidya School could score only 208 runs
