Ashoke Dinda proved his mettle as a captain after his continuous motivation guided two Bengal youngsters to unleash excellent show to earn a dramatic two-run victory against Himachal Pradesh Syed Mustak Ali T-20 championship in Nagpur on Monday.

A feeble start with only 61 for three wickets, Bengal innings could not get off properly. But Dinda came to his young batsman Promod Chandila and said, “Do not look at the scoreline. Just enjoy your game.” Chandila, speaking from Nagpur over phone on Monday after the match said, “Dinda was simply superb and his motivation guided me towards playing my natural game.” 

Chadila struck 79 off only 39 deliveries. Another youngster Alok Pratap Singh, the quick bowler also said after the match, “Dinda was continuously asking to deliver Yorkers. He also inspired saying that I should not be bothered even the batsmen hit my Yorkers.” Singh scalped two wickets for 28 runs. And the captain himself also showed excellent piece of bowling when he gave only eight runs in the slog overs to restrict Himachal batting.

Bengal has been back in the race for the quarterfinal with this dramatic win.
