Dindigul Dragons loses against Chepauk despite Ashwin’s show 1

The Dindigul Dahon owner and players were quite happy as R. Ashwin was returning to the team after missing the two games. Even the opposition team was delighted to share the stage with the international star but his return brought bad news for his own team as his team lost their first game in five matches they have played till now.

After winning the toss the Chepauk Super Gillies decided to bat first. They had a brilliant start as the openers shared a 144 runs for the first wicket. The first wicket partnership was the only thing to smile for them rest of the innings as the middle order failed completely and the team could just post 172 runs on the board.

The Dindigul Dragons had a similar start and were on the right course but they lost wickets in regular intervals putting pressure on the middle order batsmen. None of the middle order batsmen could resist the pressure and failed to produce big scores. R. Ashwin tried his level best to sail the team’s boat par winning total but the team lost the match as they 6 runs short at the end of the day.

This is the first loss for Dindigul Dragons in five games whereas the third win for Chepauk in the same number of games.
