The movie “Azhar- the untold story of Indian cricket” released on Friday. Before big bang release around India, the former Indian captain was welcomed by Indian Premier League for promoting his movie. But former Netherlands and Australian cricketer Dirk Nannes raised a question that how could a cricketer who didn’t clear the match fixing allegation welcome in IPL pre-match show. Nannes expressed his shock over the extra royal treatment that the former Indian captain has been getting.
Nannes said it is unfair on the part of cricket shows to welcome a “confessed match fixer” for his film promotion.
Why is a confessed match fixer welcomed on a cricket show and treated like royalty? How is that even possible?

But, fans of Azhar objected Nannes’ comment and tweeted in Azhar’s favour. Watching all these Nannes shared some media reports to support his point.
On being asked why the court lifted the ban, Dirk answers
@im_afsi He was NEVER cleared. His punishment was declared illegal, and the ban lifted rather than found innocent. https://t.co/uLGnuEePz5

Nannes answered another question to a fan
Nannes didn’t agree to anyone
