Disappointed Steve Smith Keen to Move on – Pat Cummins

Australia’s pacer Pat Cummins has revealed his former skipper Steven Smith is keen to move on. Smith was at the top of his prowess in the red ball version as he was going strong. However, the ball tampering scandal in the third Test match against South Africa at Cape Town changed Smith and Australia’s fate.
Since then it has been a difficult time for the former Australian skipper. He was largely criticized for his actions as he was the top head of the leadership group. However, Smith did the right thing in accepting his blunder and took the criticism on his chin.

Smith has had a tough time.
Smith had broken down on several occasions in the press conference that he had gone on to address. Meanwhile, it has been seven months since the controversial incident. Thus, Smith who has had a tough time in the last few months is keen to move on.

“I think he’s pretty disappointed. I think he was hopeful of that getting lifted but to be honest I think he’s just over it – all the speculation and talk,” Cummins told reporters.
“He’s just over it. He wants to play some cricket. There are some good T20 comps around the world coming up that hopefully he’ll go and play. I think he’s sick of all the talk.
“He said he’s in a really good place. He’s happy, he’s playing – obviously, he’d love to be playing the Tests and everything else coming up but he’s just ready to get over it.
Smith will play for Sydney club Sutherland to keep himself going in the game. The talisman batsman will then go on to play in the Pakistan Super League.
Steve Smith will be eager to hit the ground running as he has had a tough time in the recent past. Thus, Smith will be determined to make a solid comeback.
