In the last couple of months, Indian cricket is seen rising to a higher level of the game they have played till now. They have topped in the charts of the one-day cricket but Test cricket has another story. However, with the way Indian pacers have shifted the economy of Indian cricket, Rahul Dravid feels that they will be role models for the upcoming generation.
Although pacing actions were never witnessed in the Indian team, at present they are the ruling party on the ground. In the past, India has presented a good show with its spin magicians like Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble.
However, currently, India has a troop of fast bowlers who have taken down even the greatest batsmen. In the recently-concluded pink-ball Test, the bowling trio of Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav helped India to win that game. They picked all the 19 wickets and wrapped the two innings and five-day game in just three days.

Dravid: ‘This is the best fast bowling attack India ever had’
In reference to the show put by the Indian pacers in the maiden day-night Test, Dravid believes that this is the best pace troop India has ever had.
With India’s rise in the pace bowling field, the younger generation will certainly feel motivated to try as a fast bowler.

“What Ishant, Shami, Umesh, Bhuvneshwar (Kumar) and Bumrah are doing is they are actually in a way becoming role models for a younger generation of boys, who believe now they can be successful as fast bowlers in India. I think it is great to see,” Dravid was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
Dravid was pleased to see the new national side of the India team rising on the international chart. According to him, the present bowling squad of India has definitely surpassed the likes of Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan.

“Obviously we had people like Kapil (Dev), Sri (Javagal Srinath), Zaheer (Khan) in the past. But now, as a group, probably this is one of the best fast bowling attacks we have ever had. I think that’s a great inspiration for a lot of these young boys,” Dravid added.
Meanwhile, with the rise of new pacing tide in the national side, Dravid also mentioned that some of the young pacers are getting ready for the future.
“Now, at the under-19 level, we have very good fast bowlers. Last time (during the 2018 under-19 World Cup), we had three of them — Kamlesh (Nagarkoti), Shivam (Mavi) and Ishan (Porel). This year, you will also see some good fast bowlers in the team. That’s been fantastic. I think when you have role models and you have heroes like the senior team (it’s encouraging)…”, said the iconic cricketer.
The historic day-night Test in India was witnessed by many other cricket legends of India like Sachin Tendulkar. India whitewashed Bangladesh in that Test series by 2-0 and defeated them in the second Test by an innings and 46 runs in the pink-ball game.
