Amidst all the criticism that he has received for his shot selection, Risabh Pant looks set to be retained in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. As per a report in Times of India, he will be the preferred choice for the job even as Sanju Samson has been doing well in the domestic circuit to push his case for a recall.
Of late, Rishabh has come under extreme pressure from the team management. Ravi Shastri, team India’s head coach, had also said that there will be rap of his knuckles talent or no talent.
Though he said that Rishabh will be backed for long, the youngster was dropped from the playing XI in Tests, sending a loud message that he cannot keep his spot for guaranteed.

Due to unavailability of MS Dhoni for Bangladesh series, Rishabh will get another chance which could also be a final one for him if he fails to perform well. His performance in the series will have a great say in deciding whether he will keep his spot for West Indies series.
Apart from Rishabh, another talking point will be the availability of Virat Kohli. The Indian skipper is all but set to be rested for the series to manage his workload.

He was expected to be rested for the limited-overs series against West Indies but he has played all the matches since home series against Australia and will now be rested.
Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube looks set to receive a maiden call-up in place of Hardik Pandya. It also remains to be seen if Vijay Shankar gets a recall. Pandya is out for next three to four months and the duo could be called to the squad.
There could be a case that Rishabh might be dropped from the Test squad now when Wriddhiman Saha is back.
The T20Is between India and Bangladesh will be played on November 3, 7 and 10.
