Former Windies cricketer Dwayne Bravo, who represented Melbourne Stars in the last edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) has called time on his BBL career. Bravo, who is one of the most sought after T20 cricketers had decided not to renew his contract with the Melbourne Stars. However, he will take part in the other T20 leagues across the globe.
Bravo is currently playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The MS Dhoni-led side is currently at the pole positions of the points table and in line to defend their IPL title. Bravo, who has been a star performer Chennai over the years, once again did a good job with both bat and ball. In the eight matches, he has played so far, Dwayne Bravo has picked nine wickets and chipped in with 64 runs coming in the lower-order.
Meanwhile, Bravo’s departure adds to the list of star players who will not play a part in the BBL 2019-20. Already the league has lost Shane Watson (Sydney Thunder) and Colin Ingram (Adelaide Strikers) and Brendon McCullum (Brisbane Heat) from BBL 08. On the other hand, AB de Villiers is set to make its debut in the BBL in the upcoming season.
According to reports, Dwayne Bravo’s departure has a lot to do with the all-rounder’s desire to explore new options. The dynamic all-rounder is likely to strike a deal in the Bangladesh Premier League. Bravo is highly regarded for his efforts in the Australian domestic T20 cricket. He spent time with the Victorian Bushrangers before the format became franchise-based, and then enjoyed a productive period at the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades.
