Bravo along with some other big names including his brother Darren, Chirs Gayle, Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard have some good prospects in store and might be in the scheme of things for a call up in the national team after solving the issues with the West Indies Cricket Board.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) have shown signs and willingness to welcome their top players and it became more apparent when Darren Bravo was cleared to play in all three formats of the game after the stylish southpaw issued an apology to the board and its president for his derogatory comments on Twitter.
The left-handed batsman had called Cameron – the board president a “Big Idiot” and was subsequently sent home from the tour of Zimbabwe. The comment was made in relational to the disagreement of the player contracts.
The dispute over contracts has been going on among the players and the board for a long time which has led West Indies to field B Grade teams despite having the full squad available. They even abandoned the tour of India mid way in 2014 over a concern in the payment structure. The return of the star players might just be what the doctor had ordered the Caribbeans and we might be in for an exciting ODI series between West Indies and England next month if these big guns are selected.
The big man from Jamaica Chris Gayle made a comeback to the West Indies and was a part of the playing who outplayed India in all three departments in the recent one-off T20 encounter. The southpaw has played his last 50 overs match way back in 2015.
