The two-time World T20 champions, West Indies, are finding a combination that can give their status back in this year’s T20 World Cup. To bring back the team on the positive platform, the team management has called back the experienced Dwayne Bravo in the T20I side. He will be playing international cricket after more than three years.

Cricket West Indies (CWI) chief selector Roger Harper said that the return of Dwayne Bravo would solve the problem of the death-overs bowling in the team. Further adding, his experience will help other bowlers.

“Dwayne Bravo was recalled with the specific intention of bolstering our ‘death’ bowling which was identified as an area that really needs improving,” Cricket West Indies Lead Selector Roger Harper said in a press release.

“His record in this department speaks for itself.  He will also be able to act as a mentor to the other ‘death’ bowlers and lend his experience wherever needed.”

After initially announcing his retirement from international cricket in October 2018, Bravo came out of retirement in December 2019. Bravo has taken this decision when he felt that the West Indies team is now in right hands.

He praised the efforts of newly-appointed captain Kieron Pollard who has successfully lead the team since the late last year, registering some good victories.

The allrounder Bravo has played 66 T20Is, 164 ODIs and 40 Tests where he has scored 1142 runs, 2968 runs, and 2200 runs respectively. From 2016, he has not played international cricket but was regular in the franchise leagues, playing BBL, BPL, PSL, CPL, and IPL for CSK. Now, it will be interesting to see him in Windies jersey after three years against Ireland, starting from 15th January.
