Indian head coach Ravi Shastri was caught taking a nap during the course of the game on Day’s 1 play of the first Test match. Shastri who was seen seating in the pavilion’s balcony took the opportunity to catch some sleep. The Indian head coach was seating with batting coach, Sanjay Bangar.
In fact, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who was in the commentary box also made a comment on Shastri’s nap.
“Ravi Shastri having a nap there. Wake up, Ravi!” said the former India off-spinner.
Furthermore, the Turbanator asked Sanjay Bangar who was listening to the commentary to wake up Ravi Shastri. Meanwhile, Shastri who was caught off-guard gestured that he was trying to meditate.
Oh come on Shastri, you should stop organizing the late-hours team meetings.
Meanwhile, India dominated the proceedings on Day’s 1 of the first Test match. The visitors were able to halt the England innings to 285 for the loss of nine wickets at the end of opening day’s play.
Joe Root top-scored for England as he scored a fine knock of 80 while Jonny Bairstow chipped in with a 70-run knock. In fact, Virat Kohli’s brilliance in the field was the turning point in the day when Joe Root failed to make his way back to the crease.
Root’s dismissal opened the floodgates and thus India was able to bounce back into the match. The tourists scalped six wickets in the last session and conceded 122 runs.
Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri will hope that India will get the remaining one wicket as soon as possible. Subsequently, the onus is going to be on the batsmen to take India into a commanding position.
