England combative batsman Jos Buttler said that India is an outstanding Test match team. Buttler who has rejuvenated his Test career believes upcoming England vs India 2018 series is going to be an exciting contest.
Meanwhile, the pugnacious batsman is in good form with the bat. Buttler said that England has their plans worked out for almost every opposition player. Therefore, the hosts will like to execute their plans to perfection.
“It’s a great group and India are an outstanding Test match team. So it is going to be a huge series for everyone taking part, there are some great match-ups,” Buttler wrote in Sky Sports. “We’ll prepare well and have plans for individual players in the opposition but it also comes back to what we do well as a side and, especially in home conditions, what works for us. That’s what the guys will be focusing on,” he added.
In fact, Buttler had made his Test debut against India. Meanwhile, his good form in the white ball cricket has helped him regain his place in the Test side. The wicketkeeper-batsman said that the team that will acclimatize to the conditions better, will have their chances of success.
“We’ve had an incredible summer and I don’t think we should moan about it. I don’t think it’s going to be quite subcontinental conditions but in international cricket, you need to adapt to all conditions, whether that be home or away. The side that does that the best will have a good series,” he added.
Adding further, the right-hander said that India always has a good crowd support in England. Meanwhile, Jos Buttler is also expecting a good backing from England’s Barmy Army. Buttler said that a good atmosphere will be on cards for the coming weeks.
“I’m sure there will be some great atmospheres over the new few weeks, the Indian fans are very loud and I’m sure there will be plenty of support for us, from the Barmy Army, in amongst it as well,” he concluded.
England will take on India in the first Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham tomorrow (1 August). Thus, both teams will like to take the right first steps in the five-match series.
