Indian Cricket team fast bowler, Ishant Sharma is aiming to replicate his record-breaking performance at Lord’s in the upcoming Test series against England.

Meanwhile, India plays a five-match Test series starting on August 1st at Edgbaston. The visitors, however, had a mixed tour so far winning the T20I series and losing the ODIs. Notwithstanding the white-ball results, the visitors are gearing up for a gruelling Tests series.

Speaking to India TV, Ishant Sharma said they are hopeful for a good outing. He also admitted he would be trying to recreate another historic spell at Lord’s. The tall and lanky fast bowler recorded 7/74 at Lord’s on India’s last tour to this country in 2014.

I will try to repeat my performance at Lord’s. As a sportsperson, the country comes first and our main aim is to win the Test series in England. I believe that it’s the fast bowlers who can make a difference between the two sides,” Ishant said.

The cricketer from Delhi is the most experienced campaigner with 82 Tests to his name. He will also lead the pace attack comprising Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav. Ishant hopes to use his County experience on this tour.

The County experience will come in handy for this Test series. I learnt about the conditions, what lengths to bowl at, how the climate affects the wicket and the game and so on. Playing county gave me plenty of benefits which I will be applying in the upcoming series,” he concluded.
