Former Australian pacer Mitchell Johnson believes keeping things simple is the success mantra of Jasprit Bumrah. In fact, Jasprit Bumrah had impressed Johnson in the early days when both the players played for the Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League.
Bumrah was once again right on the money on the first day of the fourth Test match. The Indian fast bowler scalped three wickets to put the visitors in front. Bumrah is well known to hit the corridor of uncertainty as he has borne fruits for his accurate line and length.

Furthermore, Bumrah can produce a brisk pace despite having an awkward action.
“Bumrah has impressed me from Day 1. I remember facing him in the (Mumbai Indians) nets and he hit me on my helmet with a short ball and I thought he was quick. He keeps things simple and doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. There was a time when batsmen had started to get on top of him and we had a chat regarding this. I told him that he needed to think ahead in the game. He is in the right environment at the moment and is getting better with each match. Bumrah’s pace coupled with his accuracy is impressive”, Mitchell Johnson said while talking to the Times of India.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Johnson also observed Hardik Pandya from the closed corners in the Mumbai Indians camp. Johnson says it will take some time for Hardik Pandya to delve into the all-rounder’s role.

“It’s such a hard role and it takes time to be an all-rounder. It doesn’t happen overnight. You are batting, bowling, fielding and have to switch on all the time. I think Virat Kohli understands that well. Pandya is a guy who is extremely competitive and hates to lose. At the same time, he also wants to learn. He is a young man who has got talent and is getting better every day”.
On the other hand, Mitchell Johnson believes that a bowler must back his skills to get the better of great players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Ricky Ponting.
“When you are bowling to class players like Virat or Sachin Tendulkar or Ponting, you have to forget that they are great and back your skills. Some people get caught in that and once you get caught in that you have no chance really”.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is scaling new heights in his young career. Bumrah has shown the promise to do well and is doing a fine job for the Indian team.
