ENG vs IND 2018: Zaheer Khan, Gautam Gambhir Predict the Scoreline of Test Series
Meanwhile, the much-awaited series kickoffs on August 1 at Edgbaston. India will be desperate to improve their statistics and win their first series since 2007.
However, England are a tough side to beat at home, but this Indian team have come a long way. They are currently the top-ranked side team on the ICC Rankings winning nine out of last ten series.
However, Gautam Gambhir, the India opener, feels the host will have an edge over the visitors. He went with England because of their pace duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
“I feel that England has an edge. Because they have got James Anderson and Stuart Broad. I always believe Anderson has a part against India. If you look at history, Anderson will always go at India. England always goes hard at India and I feel they have an edge. But, India got the variety to do it this time. They have got the bowling to pick 20 wickets for the team,” Gambhir said to Cricbuzz.
On the other hand, retired India international, Zaheer Khan played it safely while making his predictions. He rooted the series will end in a draw with both sides winning one game each.
The seamer feels England will play safe and will come hard at India in the latter half of the series.
“It would be interesting to see what kind of pitches the game will be played on. If the wicket is batting friendly, India will have a great chance and stay in the fight. I still feel going at Oval, 1-1 is what I am expecting. England would start cautiously. There will be flat tracks to play on. We might not get results. So, 1-1 is all I am expecting,” Zaheer noted.
Meanwhile, both Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan provided enough justifications behind their predictions. Now, it will be interesting to see how things pan out when both the teams take the field on August 1st.
