Indian captain Virat Kohli has been going through a rough patch at the moment. Questions have been raised over Kohli’s batting after his string of bad performances in the ongoing tour of New Zealand. After scoring a fifty in the first ODI in the tour, the skipper lost his mojo as he hardly showcased his mettle on the pitch.

To make things worse, Kohli has gone three ODI series in a row without scoring a century. After playing against the likes of West Indies, Australia and New Zealand, it was for the first time that Virat didn’t score a single hundred in three consecutive bilateral series he played since his maiden century in his ODI career.

Kohli failed to make a mark in the opening Test in Wellington as he registered twin failures (2 and 19) against New Zealand in the first and second innings that saw India losing the first Test by ten wickets. Soon after that, people started doubting Kohli’s consistency.

On the contrary, a certain section of the fans didn’t hesitate to call Steven Smith as a better batsman than Kohli. While the majority of the people are still criticising Kohli on his form, the Indian captain said that he is least bothered about what others say. He said that scores do not always reflect the way a player is batting.

“I am absolutely fine. I am batting really well. I feel that sometimes scores don’t reflect the way you are batting and that’s what can happen when you don’t execute what you want to well,” Kohli told media persons after India lost the first Test by 10 wickets.

A Sri Lankan fan who appears to be an administrator of Island Cricket collected statistics of Kohli’s nine innings across formats in the ongoing tour of New Zealand and then he put all the scores in his tweet while tagging Virat Kohli as the ‘over-rated batsman’. He also added that his counter-parts Steve Smith, Babar Azam and Kane Williamson are the top-three batsmen who can score in all conditions.

“19, 2, 9, 15, 51, 11, 38, 11, 45 – Virat Kohli’s scores in New Zealand series 2020 (all 3 formats). #Cricket
