England A continued their dominating performance in limited-overs cricket. In a List A Tri-series, which also includes Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A,Bell-Drummond helped the three Lions to score 425 for 1, 395 for 3 and 324 for 8 in their last three consecutive games. Against SriLanka A at Canterbury, England Lions smashed a record-breaking 425 losing just one wicket, thanks to a huge unbeaten stand for 2nd wicket partnership between Ben Duckett and Bell-Drummond.
Duckett has been in serious form in the last a few games as he scored an unbeaten 220 and set quite a few records. Earlier in this Tri-series, he smashed a quick fire 163 while chasing. Duckett’s partner Bell-Drummond scored 171. Before this game, Drummond never scored a hundred in a List A game.
Sri Lanka in reply to England’s 425 bowled out for 285 in 48 over. The Sri Lankan team got a great start with Dickwella scored 60 off 45 balls. He shared a hundred run partnership with Udwatte. But the middle order collapsed a 140 run win for England Lions. Angelo Perera and Thisera Perera were other major contribution in Sri Lanka A’s total with 69 and 45 respectively.
Currently, the England main team is playing Test series against Pakistan where they defeated Pakistan by more than 300 runs and labeled the series 1-1.
Alastair Cook scored 105 and a half century while Joe Root scored 254 and a half century that ensured a 589 lead to England.
Sachin Tendulkar was the first batsman to score a double ton in ODI match, and the Virender Sehwag was the second batsman to score a double ton, followed by Rohit Sharma scored double hundred twice.
In the 2015 World Cup, Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle scored double hundred.
