International cricket embraced another twin as Jamie Overton joins his brother Craig Overton in the England squad for the remaining two matches of the Royal London ODI series.

Craig, 21 was included to the squad ahead of yesterday’s defeat at Rose Bowl after Chris Jordan was ruled out due a side strain.

With Liam Plunkett also sitting out the rest of the series because of a thigh problem, England decide to include another bowler to the ranks and opted for Jamie.

With two games to play at Trent Bridge on Wednesday and Emirates Durham on Saturday, there is a strong chance of one of the Overtons becoming the first player from North Devon to represent England since Mark Lathwell in 1993.

The twins have played for the England U19 and Lions Side. This is Craig’s first involvement with the full national team. Jamie was in England’s squad for the Nat West Series against Australia in 2013 when he was 19, but did not play a game.

The six foot five inch tall North Devon bowler is blessed with pace former England captain Mike Atherton consider him for the winter Ashes for his 6 for 95 haul in 2013 against Middlesex.

Jamie is three minutes younger than Craig.
