England pace bowler David Willey will join Chennai Super Kings team in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. The men in Yellow have lost a key player in Kedar Jadhav.

The Indian cricketer had suffered a hamstring injury in the first game of IPL against Mumbai Indians. However, he came on as a last wicket batsman and guided his side to a sensational victory.

The scans on Sunday has confirmed that the talented middle order batsman will be out of this IPL. There were reports that he could return back to the team in few weeks time. But after the medical checkups, he was confirmed to not play a part this year.

On the other hand, David Willey will become the 12th English player to participate in Indian Premier League this season. The left arm pace bowler have had experience in playing in India, when he toured with England national team last year.

He had a base price of ₹ 2 crore at the auction and remained unsold. He can also be handy with the bat, alongside his impressive bowling. The young pacer have had success in the domestic T20 leagues across the world and will now look to ply his trade in Indian Premier League this season.

Chennai Super Kings had also lost New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner to injury, which ensures that the team did not cross the overseas quota limit. The Kings are back to Indian Premier League after two years and are looking to make everyone feel their presence.

IPL returns to Chennai

On the other hand, hype has been very high in Chennai as the team are set to take on Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday. The game will mark the return of cash rich league back to the Southern most franchise.

During their absence, not a single game was played in Chepauk. The fans are definitely on high vibes going into the game.
