England cricket team, who landed in India a few days back to play limited overs series, sweat it out hard in their first net session led by Eoin Morgan at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. The training session lasted for 3-4 hours in cooler conditions.
Joe Root was missing from the training as he is still in England due to personal commitments and will join the team on January 12, three days before the start of the limited-overs series.
England boys will look to turn the tables in this completely different format as the England, led by Alastair Cook in Tests, were trumped by India 4-0. Keeping the sour memory in mind, a comparably young and refreshed team will look to take revenge from the home team.
The England squad is slated to play two warm-up games against India A in order assimilate with the conditions. Both the games will be played at CCI ground in Mumbai. Former Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni will lead the India A side in the first contest before Ajinkya Rahane replaces him for the second warm-up tie with his totally revamped squad. England would like to grasp as many lessons from these two opportunities in hope for some changed results in this format of the game.
The limited overs series start from January 15 at Pune and the final game of the series will be played on February 1 at Bangalore.
