The England Cricket Board (ECB,) on Tuesday, announced the 16 members unchanged squad for the 5 Test series against India to be played from next month. The selectors have made no change to the squad that is currently playing the Test series against Bangladesh. Anderson absence was the highlight as the fast bowler is not yet fit to be part of the squad for Indian voyage.
He has not yet recovered from the shoulder injury which he suffered to bring the Pakistan Tests, though he was hopeful of making a comeback for this tour as he announced that he would be coming after the completion of first Test match but still he has not been able to be fit for the series. Still, the doors of his comeback are always open and he is free to walk in whenever he is fit and ready to be part of the tour.
An unchanged squad for India tour comes as a surprise as the same squad was seen struggling in the first Test match against Bangladesh due to a batting failure. The selectors have shown faith in the Cook led squad. Gareth Batty has also been given anther go to prove his credentials on this tour on spin friendly wickets.
England boys are still to play a Test against Baldish which will start on October 28. The 5 match Test series starts from November 9 with Rajkot hosting the first Test match. 3 ODI’s and the same number of T20s will follow days cricket.
