The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the 17-man squad for the final two Test matches in the ongoing five-match Test series. India has retained most of the same squad for the last two Test matches. Prithvi Shaw has earned his maiden call to the Indian Test squad. Shaw has impressed in the recent past and also scored a fine hundred against South Africa A.

Furthermore, Hanuma Vihari is also rewarded for his impressive show in the domestic circuit as he makes the cut for the first time. Meanwhile, Murali Vijay who failed to impress in the first two Test matches, is dropped from the squad.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was reportedly ruled out for the last two Test matches has been left out.

Some new faces make the cut for the final two Test matches.

Meanwhile, the players like Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja didn’t get a chance to play in the first three matches. However, Rishabh Pant made his debut in the third Test match. Pant was impressive with his glovework and would look to carry on the good work.

India played a different playing XI in all the three Test matches. In fact, it has been the same story under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. However, India is expected not to fluctuate its final XI for the fourth Test match after winning the third Test match squad .by a massive margin of 203 runs.

The visitors were able to bounce back after going down in the first two Test matches. England won the first match by 31 runs while the hosts totally dominated the second as they won by a margin of an innings and 159 runs. However, India was able to come back in the series as they won by a margin of 203 runs.

The fourth Test match will take place at Aegis Bowl, Southampton from 30th August.
