The prodigy batsman Prithvi Shaw might replace the out-of-form batsman KL Rahul. India’s opener hasn’t hit the ground running in England as he scored only 113 runs at an average of 14.12.
Thus, it is reported by Times Now, the young 18-year old Prithvi Shaw is in contention to make his Test debut. Furthermore, it is also reported Ravichandran Ashwin is also not 100% fit and is likely to miss out in the final Test match at the Oval.
There could be some changes in India’s playing XI.
In fact, KL Rahul has been superb while fielding at the second slip. He has plunged on to some fine catches in the slip cordon. Thus, he has done well at an area where India has generally struggled.
On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw was able to break into the Indian squad on the back of some strong performances. He was part of India A squad which recently toured England. Consequently, he is well acclimatized to the English conditions. The stylish right-hander also scored a fine hundred against South Africa A in the four-day match.

Shaw came into the limelight when he scored debut hundred in Ranji Trophy as well as the Duleep Trophy. He has been the cynosure of all his eyes in his maiden domestic season as he looked at ease while playing against one of the best in the business.
Meanwhile, India has already lost the series as England has taken an impregnable lead of 3-1. Therefore, India can look to make some changes to their playing XI combination.
However, the tourists will be determined to make it 3-2 at the Oval. It is going to be a dead rubber but India will have all to play in the final Test match.
The fourth Test match will take place at Kennington Oval, London from 7 September.
