Former Australian legendary spinner Shane Warne reckons Ravichandran Ashwin bowled too fast on day three of the ongoing fourth Test. Warne believes there was huge pressure on Ashwin to deliver the goods. Thus, he was rushing into his action.
Ravichandran Ashwin also landed 18% of his deliveries in the rough area compared to Moeen Ali’s who pitched 28% of his balls in the rough. Thus, there was the difference between the wickets column of Moeen Ali and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The England all-rounder scalped five wickets whereas Ashwin could only manage a solitary wicket of Ben Stokes. Furthermore, Ashwin tried too many variations which led to his downfall. He should have stuck to the basics as there was enough help in the surface.
However, Ashwin could not hit the right areas in the pitch and England batsmen kept him at bay. Thus, Ashwin looked toothless on Day 3 of the fourth Test match at Ageas Bowl, Southampton.
In fact, Virat Kohli also over bowled Ravichandran Ashwin as he bowled 33 overs in the day.

Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin had suffered a hip injury in the third Test match at Trent Bridge. Therefore, he might not have been 100% fit.
Shane Warne took to Twitter to share his thoughts. The former talisman spinner reckons anything more than 275 will be difficult for the Indian side to chase.
Warne post read as, “Test match very evenly balanced in Southampton – anything more than chasing 275 will be difficult for India. My thoughts on Ashwin – he’s fighting the expectations that were on him as the pitch is turning – hence he’s rushing his action along with bowling consistently too fast!!”
