Former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar showered praise on Cheteshwar Pujara after his gutsy knock of 72 runs in the second innings of the ongoing third Test. Pujara who is not in the best of forms took his time as he scored his runs in own way, taking 208 balls.

Thus, Pujara must have been able to get back his confidence which was sliding down. In fact, it is well known Cheteshwar Pujara is at his best when he takes his time.

Pujara was able to get back his Midas Touch

Meanwhile, Pujara was trying to bat out of his character in the earlier Test matches which led to his downfall. The right-hander who has a solid technique was looking to score runs at the higher strike rate.

Thus, Pujara was trying to sail in two boats and was caught napping in between. Consequently, Sunil Gavaskar is delighted with the fact that three Indian batsmen have got back into form.

Ajinkya Rahane scored a fine 81 in the first innings whereas Kohli continued his dream run in England scoring another 200 runs in the third Test match.

“There have been questions about Pujara’s place in this team. He was well-set, and the ball didn’t do much, maybe moved a little bit away. It has been a very good partnership. Pujara didn’t do a lot wrong. This game has got three of India’s batsmen back in form,”  Sunil Gavaskar said on BBC Test Match Special.

Meanwhile, India has put themselves in a commanding position as they put a gargantuan target of 521 runs on the board. Thus, it is going to be two tough days for the England batsmen as India will look to bounce back in the series. India is currently trailing by 0-2 in the five-match series.
