Former Indian flamboyant batsman VVS Laxman explained the difference between Virat Kohli and other batsmen. Virat Kohli was the standout in the first Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Indian skipper scored 200 runs in the opening Test and looked a class apart as compared to other batsmen.
On the other hand, other Indian batsmen collectively scored 214 runs and failed to leave a mark. Therefore, Kohli was the lone warrior and India went on to lose the first Test by 31 runs.
Kohli scored a majestic knock of 149 in the first innings and backed it with another 51 in the second dig. Therefore, the difference between Kohli’s class and other batters was palpable.
Virat Kohli was the cynosure of all eyes at Edgbaston.
Meanwhile, VVS Laxman held a Question-Answer session on Twitter asking his fans to post Questions for him. Subsequently, the Hyderabad batsman took the opportunity to answer some of the questions.
Laxman said that Virat Kohli was mentally strong which is a pivotal part to savor success in the red ball form. Furthermore, the former stylish batsman added that Kohli was able to execute his plans to perfection. The Indian captain was also able to control his instincts as he was patient in the initial stages of his innings.
Meanwhile, VVS Laxman also gave credit to Virat Kohli’s conversion rate. Kohli has gone past the 50-run mark on 39 occasions out of which he has converted 22 fifties into the hundreds. Therefore, Kohli’s conversion rate is second best to the great Sir Donald Bradman.
