England wicketkeeper, Jonny Bairstow suffered a blow to his finger while he was attempting to catch the ball. It was the last ball of the 44th over by England’s pack leader James Anderson which dipped on.
Thus, the ball hit on the fingertips of Jonny Bairstow’s left hand. It left the England gloveman in some pain as it was palpable on his face. There was grimace on Bairstow’s face when he left the field while covering his left-hand in his cap.
The grimace was palpable on Jonny Bairstow’s face.
Consequently, Jos Buttler had to fill in the shoes of a wicketkeeper and took the gloves from his teammate. However, as per the latest reports of England and Wales Cricket Board, Jonny Bairstow was sent for X-Ray.
Meanwhile, it could be a big blow to England if Jonny Bairstow gets ruled out. The England wicketkeeper is one of the most technically correct England batsmen. Bairstow had scored a fine 70 in the first Test match at Edgbaston. Furthermore, the right-hander backed it with another 93 in the second Test match at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s.
Thus, England was able to make up for Bairstow loss as a wicketkeeper by giving the gloves to Jos Buttler. However, Bairstow- the batsman is irreplaceable.
Meanwhile, Indian batsmen, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara batted cautiously in the first session of Day 3 of the ongoing third Test match. Kohli and Pujara added 70 runs to India’s overnight score to take visitors to 194-2 at Lunch.
Therefore, no damage was done in the wickets column as India is currently leading by 362 runs. Consequently, India has put their noses in front in the third Test match.
