Today was the last for India in the tri-series and the first match for India against England as the previous match was stopped due to rain. India has been in very poor form in this series. Today’s match was no exception. Only the opening pair made some runs and after they were dismissed India’s innings came to an end. England also didn’t perform too well but it was enough to beat India. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Performers of the Day

1. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane was the top scorer in the first innings. It was because of him India scored some runs. If he didn’t score runs then it would have been a shameful defeat for India. He scored 73 runs from 101 balls with a strike rate of 72.3 and hit 3 fours and 1 six.

2. Steven Finn

Steven Finn showed some great performance today. It was bowlers pitch and he took full advantage. He was the best batsman today. In his 10 overs spell he took 3 wickets and gave only 36 runs with an economy of 3.6.

3. James Taylor

James Taylor was the top scorer today. He came to bat when the opening pair flopped. He was batting alone. The other batsmen came and went with single figures. He scored 82 runs from 122 balls with a strike rate of 67.2 and hit 4 fours.

4. Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler was the other part of the pair who is responsible for the victory of England. He and Taylor scored 125 runs in partnership and brought England to a winning position. He alone scored 67 runs from 78 balls with a strike rate of 85.9 and hit 7 fours.

Non-Performers of the Day

1. Virat Kohli

It was certainly not Virat Kohli’s day. He was a flop today. He is losing form and if it continues then there are very few hopes for India in the World Cup. Today he scored only 8 runs and gave his wicket to Moeen Ali in the 29th over.

2. Suresh Raina

Just like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina is also out of form. Suresh Raina is a very good cricketer but if he stays out of form then its not good news for India. Today he scored only 1 run and gave his wicket to Moeen Ali in the 30th over.

3. Ian Bell

Ian Bell, the opening batsman, too was a disappointment for England. He batted very poorly and it seemed that India may get the upper hand. He scored only 10 runs and gave his wicket to Mohit Sharma in the 4th over.

4. Joe Root

Joe Root was another disappointment. When England was losing its top order he came to bat but was unsuccessful in delivering. He scored only 3 runs and gave his wicket to Stuart Binny in the 14th over.
