The 2nd Day was all of England’s innings. England showed some great batting skills and contained India for the majority of the Day. But India fought back took 7 wickets, but it was too late to pick up the wickets. At the End of the Day England were at 385/7 giving them a big lead of 237 runs. There were a few miserable showcase of bowling by India on the field and there were some splendid batting display by the English Team. Here is the list of the HITS and FLOPS of Day 2.
Hits of the Day
1. Joe Root
Joe Root displayed a splendid performance and helped England reach a stable position again after the dismissals of the skipper Cook and Ballance. After the end of the Day he score 92 runs and was still not out. He also hit the only six of the innings.
2. Alastair Cook
The skipper, Alastair Cook, took the responsibility of the team on his shoulders and batted brilliantly and scored 79 runs. He scored 125 runs in partnership with Ballance and gave England the quick start in needed.
The bowler who returned after injury bowled exceptionally and picked up 2 wickets and had the lowest economy rate of 2.4. India really needs some more magic from this bowler on the 3rd day.

Gary Ballance was one of the key players who contributed to England’s success in scoring high runs today in the early part of the day. He scored 64 runs.
Flops of the Day
1. Ian Bell
Ian Bell was the lowest scorer of the day and didn’t help England in the bad time today. He scored 7 runs before giving away his wicket to Ishant.
2. Moeen Ali
Mooen Ali was too unable to help England score runs from the Indian bowling attack.
3. Stuart Binny
Stuart Binny was the most expensive bowler and picked up no wickets. He gave 58 runs in 12 overs with an economy rate of 4.8 and gave 2 no balls also.
