England vs India: I want to play all three formats – Ravindra Jadeja

Team India spinner Ravindra Jadeja remains confident to represent his country in all the three formats as he feels playing only Tests is not enough to keep him in good shape for international cricket.

Meanwhile, Jadeja finally got some game time after being a mere passenger for the rest of the series. He returned with two for 57, on day one of the fifth and final Test. Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja also provided the first breakthrough after a 60-run opening stand.

Speaking after the end of day’s play, Ravindra Jadeja admitted that he aims to convert his opportunities to performances.

For me, the biggest thing is that I am playing for India and maybe someday if I do well, I will be back playing all three formats of the game soon enough. But my aim is to convert any opportunity I get into performance,” Jadeja notes.

Aim to fulfill the all-rounder’s spot

He outlined playing the holding role as the lone spinner, while also admitted his aim to satisfy the all-rounder spot for India.

Whenever I get an opportunity to play for India, I will give my best in both aspects — batting and bowling. I want to become a trusted member of the team and I can fulfill the all-rounder slot well because I have done it before in the past,” Ravindra Jadeja added.

The Saurashtra all-rounder also shared high praise for the Indian fast bowlers. The likes of Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami have done exceeding well throughout this series.

Meanwhile, India fought back after a gritty start from the England openers. They picked six wickets in the last session of the day as the hosts finished the day at 198 for seven.
