England’s Tymal Mills Bowls At Over 90 mph, Virat Says ‘He’s Not A Worry’
India captain Virat Kohli is unmoved by the presence of pace bowling sensation Tymal Mills in the visitors helm. Mills is believed to bowl with a speed of above 90 mph and Virat says he has faced pacers with the same speed in the past, and that he is not worried about facing him in the upcoming T20 series.
Mills might have created havoc in the English domestic structure but his speed ain’t fast enough to keep Virat Kohli at bay. The Delhi lad has been a thorn in the flesh of English players since the outset of the series, having amassed 655 runs in Tests before notching a match-winning hundred in Pune.
The 28-year-old has been ranked among top three batsmen in the world by experts and pundits, given his average lies above 50 across three formats.
Talking to the media before Thursday’s first T20I match, Virat said Mills must have been selected because of his skill sets but that doesn’t bother him, neither as an opposition captain nor as a batsman.
“I haven’t seen much of him but I have played 90mph before. They have brought him in as a T20 specialist and he might have a set of skills that are required for this format but I can maybe comment further on him after I’ve played him. But 90mph is not a problem at all – I think I have faced many 90mph bowlers before.”
Tymal Mills came into limelight last season, when he deceived T20s most devastating batsman Chris Gayle with a lightening fast yorker, speeding around 93 mph. On international level, Mills has played only one T20 against Sri Lanka in Southampton last year.
India and England will face off in first of the three T20Is at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Thursday.
