English Fast Bowler Steven Finn Signs New Contract With Middlesex
England pace bowler Steven Finn has signed a new contract with his current cricket club Middlesex that would see him at the club for multiple years.
There has been quite a lot of speculation over his future as he was into his final year of his contract and there were suggestions that he is looking to move away from Middlesex at the end of the county season. However, the club put an end to all the speculations by tying him down to a new contract.
Steven Finn had started his career at Middlesex at the age of 16 and continued to play for the club over the past decade. He has taken 458 wickets for Middlesex across all the formats ever since he debuted for them in 2005, making him one of the best players in club’s history.
Despite not revealing the length of Finn’s contract, Middlesex Director of Cricket Angus Fraser said:
“The club continues to be extremely proud of what he achieves so, despite speculation, it was unimaginable to me that he would leave the club to play for another county.
“Steven has never expressed a desire to play for anyone other than Middlesex, and I would like to see him finish his career with the club and to be remembered as one of our greatest cricketers. He has much to offer.”

Lancashire had recently expressed their interest in signing the 28-year old, but they failed to lure him away. Finn is also the most prolific Middlesex bowler to represent England had managed to pick up 254 wickets for the national team across all the competitions.

“I’m delighted to have signed a contract extension with the club I have represented my whole career,” Finn said.
“The club has come a long way since I first played for it and I feel we are still developing, and that is something i am excited about being a part of. I am optimistic about our chances in all three formats moving forward and want to help win more trophies for this great club.”
Steven Finn was dropped from the upcoming ODI series against West Indies and the pacer is looking to make a comeback into the limited overs team once again with good performances in the domestic circuit. He was part of Champions Trophy squad for England, while his last test match was in October, 2016.
