Eoin Morgan Hails England's All-Round Performance In Kanpur Win 1
Eoin Morgan has praised his side's all-round performance against India after Kanpur T20I win.

England captain Eoin Morgan has hailed his side’s all-round performance after his side’s emphatic seven-wicket win over India at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

Morgan praised his new ball bowlers Tymal Mills and Chris Jordan, who with their pacey bouncers or slower ones troubled Indian batsmen from top to bottom. The Kanpur ground, not a big one dimension wise would have favoured the batters throughout, but Morgan believes his seamers showed character and did a commendable job in resisting the Indian batsmen to score runs.

The Irishmen poured praising words on Moeen Ali also, who picked up two wickets, including the big one of Virat Kohli and also of Manish Pandey. Both the wickets came at a crucial time for England, as India was forced to pull down gears, and unfortunately for India, they couldn’t make a comeback from there later on.

“OUR BOWLERS WERE OUTSTANDING TONIGHT, MOEEN ALI IN PARTICULAR SHOWED GREAT RESOLVE. WE SHOWED A LOT OF EXPERIENCE, AND TYMAL MILLS AND CHRIS JORDAN PUT THEIR HANDS UP IN VERY IMPORTANT ROLES. THEY MADE IT VERY HARD FOR THE INDIAN BATSMEN ON A SMALL GROUND.”

Morgan who himself made 51 off 39 balls said it was the opening pair who laid the foundation for the middle order to come and launch the shots. Sam Billings and Jason Roy wrecked havoc early on, as they scored quick 40 in around first four overs.

Second over of Jasprit Bumrah was the one where England scored 20 runs and got the match onto their side.

“SAM BILLINGS AND JASON ROY DID OUTSTANDINGLY WELL, SAM HAS TAKEN HIS TWO CHANCES WHEN HE’S HAD THE OPPORTUNITY.”

India and England will face off in Nagpur on Sunday for the second T20I game.
