IPL 2020: Eoin Morgan Will Create Major Impact For KKR – Harsha Bhogle
England cricketer Eoin Morgan has not been a superstar in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the past years. However, for the upcoming IPL season, he might create an impact for KRR, says Harsha Bhogle. The renowned cricket commentator Bhogle further stated it would disappoint him if Morgan won’t live up to the expectations.
Morgan for the past two seasons went unsold but after guiding his team to victory in the World Cup 2019, the franchises had a bidding war to bag the services of England captain. Finally, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought the player in the IPL 2020 Auction for 5.25 crores.
On Sunday, Bhogle tweeted that Morgan hasn’t showcased his talent in IPL but he won’t be surprised if Morgan creates a major impact for the Knight Riders in the 2020 season.
Harsha Bhogle tweets about the rise of Eoin Morgan:
“I know he has never been quite the player in the IPL that he has been for England but I will be surprised if @Eoin16 doesn’t create an impact with @KKRiders this year,” Bhogle tweeted.

Meanwhile, Morgan’s mesmerising knock against South Africa led Bhogle to tweet about the skipper. Chasing the target of 223 to win in 20 overs, he scored 57 not out in 22 balls (seven sixes) against South Africa in the deciding T20I in Centurion on Sunday. His crucial knock led England to win the series with 2-1.
Morgan was also awarded as the Man of the Match as well as the series. He has also scored 52 in 34 balls in the first match.
Morgan has played in the IPL for seven seasons (excluding 2014 when he did not enter) and in 52 matches in them, he has scored 854 runs at a strike-rate of 121 above. He has made only four fifties in the tournament with the highest score of 66.
The three other franchises for which Morgan has played are Royal Challengers Bangalore (2010), Sunrisers Hyderabad (2015, 2016) and Kings XI Punjab (2017).
