English all-rounder Ben Stokes has been in the headlines ever since his brawl with a person outside a nightclub in Bristol.
The future of the star is still unknown as he is not a confirmed certainty especially for the upcoming Ashes.
England’s limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan was also among the common audience as he still has no clarification on the 26-year old’s participation in the Ashes series down under.
Morgan is currently in Abu Dhabi to feature in the newly inaugurated T10 competition after successfully leading England to a 4-0 win against West Indies.
“There is still no clarification on Stokes, so I am not sure he is going or not. I think touring Australia is always tough. They are always a very good team in home conditions and it’s going to be a tough couple of months for the boys,” said Eoin Morgan.
However, Morgan reckons that it will be tough for England playing away in Australia. The team is yet to be a settled one as there are so many inexperienced batters in the lineup which is looking as the biggest weakness for the team.
“Ashes is a bigger challenge when it is away from home. Given wherever it is, away from home, normally the home advantage is a big thing. Certainly when you go away from home and you play there (in Australia) it is a huge opportunity for guys to go and make a big impact on the Ashes away from home. There are some beautiful wickets there to bat on so hopefully, our guys can come up with good performance,” he further added.
The 31-year old, who is leading England incredibly well post 2015 World Cup has praised Pakistan cricket team for winning the prestigious Champions Trophy amid low expectations.
“One of the things is that we look back at the Champions Trophy and see where we fell short. One of the huge positives from the Pakistan’s aspect of things is that they got to bowl reverse swing in both the semi-final and final against us and against India. We could not find an answer to it. Huge credit to the Pakistan team for going on to win the Champions Trophy.”
