England opening batsman Alex Hales is keen to deliver for hosts at the 2019 World Cup, starting on May 30 in London. Hales added they’ve been bolstered with the efforts put up by his teammates over the years.
The No.1 ranked team Three Lions have done exceedingly well and on those lines, Hales believes they have a decent chance to lift their maiden World Cup title.
The 30-year-old maintained they are up for the challenge. He reiterated England will do something incredible during the quadrennial event.
2019 World Cup: England have their chances –

While expressing beyond the chances, Hales is elated to be the part of the World Cup campaign. He added he will give his cent per cent under the leadership of Eoin Morgan.
“Yep, I’m going for it and saying yes. I’m the most excited I have ever been. I really think we’re going to do something special,” Hales told The Guardian.
Furthermore, the cricketing pundits have termed England favourites for the ODI showpiece.
Meanwhile, the English team will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa at Kennington Oval.
Following their miserable show in the 2015 World Cup jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, England have developed into a strong unit which further saw them maintain a staggering record in the 50-over fold.
Soon after the World Cup debacle, England regrouped to win 30 out of 42 ODIs. So far, they’ve had lost only nine ODIs which further clears the picture of their domination.
Apart from the Test format, Hales had a modest record in the day-long format. Also, the explosive batsman has amassed 2,229 runs at an average of 40.52.
Overall, he has maintained his strike-rate of 97.72.
Alex Hales sets focus on the white-ball format:

In 2016, Hales has last featured in the Test fold. However, he has vowed to focus on the white-ball cricket and to bring laurels to the England cricket.
Besides, Hales didn’t shy away from admitting that he can’t be a top-notch batsman in the traditional format.
While speaking about Test cricket, he believes England have availed a number of world-class batters who have the potential to excel across formats.
He further remarked he is among the one who could go a long way in the white-ball cricket.
“I think there are only a handful of players who can be truly world class at all three formats and having played all three, I’m not one of them. But I think I can be in white-ball,” Hales inferred.
Concurrently, Hales is also the part of English County side Nottinghamshire. He has signed the white-ball contract until 2019 with the prominent English club.
