Fan Blocks Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Hummer Outside Airport
Mahendra Singh Dhoni might have stepped down as the captain of the Indian team but it has not affected his popularity at all. The two-time World Cup-winning captain is one of the most beloved cricketers in this cricket-crazy nation and so seeing him getting mobbed by fans every now and then is not surprising at all. The fans treat the cricketers no less than gods and the players, on their part, make sure to keep their fans happy by obliging for autographs and photos.
But sometimes, the fans while trying to catch a glimpse of their beloved player cross the line. Well, the latest incident that has happened with Dhoni in Ranchi is the biggest example of that. The 35-year-old’s arrival in Ranchi has always created a lot of buzz and it was no different when he stepped outside of the Birsa Munda Airport to head home after leading Jharkhand to the quarterfinals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Kolkata.
However, one fan, who was on the same flight as the Jharkhand team, had spotted Dhoni, and followed him all the way outside the airport. According to reports in Deccan Chronicle, the fan was so desperate to click a selfie or at least get an autograph from the Indian star that she blocked the path of his hummer. However, her wish did not get fulfilled as Dhoni did not oblige to her requests before the airport security rushed in to bring the matter under control.
The report further claimed that Dhoni’s four-wheeler had run over the fan’s handbag after it fell on the ground following a scuffle and Dhoni got out of his car for a while to make sure everything was fine.
