Fans Disappointed After Virat Kohli And Other Indian Players Skip Practice Session Before Cuttack ODI
On the eve of the second One-Day International match against England, India skipper Virat Kohli and his other teammates did not attend the practice session that had disappointed the crowd, who were desperate to see the batting sensation at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
However, wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul turned for two-hour practice in the evening session, which included a customary pitch inspection after landing at around 2:15 PM in Cuttack on January 18.
“It was something that had been finalised by the BCCI. The teams do not have any problem in arriving on the eve of the match,” Odisha Cricket Association CEO Bidyut Kumar Nayak was quoted as saying by DNA.
According to the report, both teams landed in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon on Wednesday.
An England team official stated the visitors’ luggage arrived late at the airport and that’s why their practice session had to be delayed.
Before landing on January 18 in Cuttack, both teams were in Pune for around three days after the team hotel was booked for a wedding in Odisha capital.
India is currently leading the three-match series 1-0.
