Australia’s Glenn Maxwell smashed the 2nd fastest hundred in World Cup during the ongoing match against Sri Lanka at the SCG, Sydney. Maxwell brought up his hundred off just 51 balls, the second fastest in World Cup and the fastest in this edition equalling AB de Villiers’ record of a 51 ball 100 against west Indies at the same venue few days back. He got out soon after for 101 off 53 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Irish batsman Kevin O’Brien’s record for the fastest hundred in a World Cup match still stays. O’Brien achieved it in 50 balls. Matthew Hayden, John Davison and Paul Stirling complete the list. Here is the list of top 5 batsmen with the fastest hundreds in World Cups.
