Karun Nair, playing in his third Test of the career, made unbeaten 303 to become only the second India batsman to make a triple century after Virender Sehwag.

In the fifth Test against England in 2016, the middle-order batsman Nair came out to bat when Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara returned to the hut. He went on to script the history at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, scoring the triple century in 381 balls. India declared the innings at 759, which also became the team’s highest Test score. In the end, India won the Test match convincingly by an innings and 75 runs.

However, the triple ton proved to be unfortunate for him because he never got the chance after that particular series.
