Matthew Hayden, former Australia’s opening batsman, registered the second-fastest triple century in Test cricket. He achieved this feat against Zimbabwe in the first Test in 2003.
At Perth, Justin Langer and Ricky Ponting lost their wickets early, but Hayden delivered with the bat. He might have scored 400 Test runs, but Zimbabwe bowler Trevor Gripper send him to the pavilion at 380. However, Australia ended their first innings with 735 on the scoreboard.
Hayden scored 300 in 362 balls. His smashed 38 fours and 11 sixes.
