Former Indian cricketer breaks his own record, scoring the fastest triple century. In 2008 Test series against South Africa, he reached the 300-run mark in 278 balls on the third day. He continued his innings on the fourth day, but he could add just ten runs. Shewag ended his innings at 319 while the match ended in a draw.

With his knock of 319, Sehwag still holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in Test cricket.

Overall, just four batsmen have scored a triple hundred twice in Test cricket – Don Bradman (Australia), Brian Lara (West Indies), Virender Sehwag and Chris Gayle (West Indies).
