What one witnessed at Pune on Sunday was nothing short of an absolute spectacle! Needing a humongous target of 351 to win the game, India were down and out for 63-4 and it just seemed a matter of time before the formalities would be done and dusted with. From there on, skipper Virat Kohli put up a display of absolute master-class as he went on to register 27th ODI century of his career.
Kohli had an excellent support in local boy Kedar Jadhav as the pair just toyed away with the English bowlers. India ended up winning the game with 11 deliveries to spare and put England in a condition of absolute dilemma. Cricketers across the globe heaped praise on Kohli’s team for such a heroic performance in the first ODI.
Among them, was the evergreen Harbhajan Singh, who had fun at the expense of England’s performance. In a bid to praise Kohli and troll England in one way, Harbhajan tweeted a famous dialogue from a Bollywood movie.
“A Bollywood dialog 4 England cricket team.Rishte mai hum tumhare baap lagte hai Naam hai virat kohli.captain leading from front @imVkohli???,” was the message tweeted by Harbhajan. It does seem that the Turabanator indeed had a blast while watching India chase down the target.
Way to go @imVkohli and @JadhavKedar! Fab knocks by both of you. Congratulations to the team. #INDvENG @BCCI
