FIR lodged against Ravindra Jadeja's relative 1

Sword dance by the groom and an 1-crore car from the father-in-law were not the only things firing up cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wedding on April 17 in Rajkot. The wedding came under police investigation when the cops received the reports of a celebratory firing incident .
Following the incident, an FIR has been lodged against one of Ravindra Jadeja’s relatives, Kripalsinh Jadeja.

The all-rounder who is currently playing for the Gujarat Lions in the on-going Indian Premier League got married to Riva Solanki, earlier this month. As the marriage procession was moving, apparently one of Jadeja’s relatives (Kripalsinh Jadeja), who was within a few feet of the horse-mounted cricketer, was seen firing in the air from his revolver. No one was injured, but police arriving at the scene said it’s illegal to use even licensed firearms except in cases
of self-defence.

Confirming the news, Rajkot Rural SP Antarip Sood, “We have received reports of celebratory firing at the wedding procession and we have asked Lodhikha police to conduct an inquiry and file a report. It was a private function and police were in the area merely to regulate traffic.”

The Police department also said that the whole incident took place inside the premises of a five-star hotel.
Nobody is allowed inside the hotel and the hotel has its private security. The firing took place during (the) wedding procession in the morning inside the hotel. We have not received any complaints so far. But we are conducting an inquiry,” M N Rana of Lodhika Tehsil Police Station was quoted as saying by New India Express.

He also said, “We had sought visuals and other videos related to the marriage from the Jadeja family and after examining them thoroughly we found that a person had opened fire in the air.”
“He is Kripalsinh Jadeja, a maternal relative of Ravindra Jadeja. We have lodged an FIR against him under IPC section 336 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and section 30 of the Arms Act,” Rana concluded.
