New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder is set to appear for Central Stag next week in a T20 game against Northern Knights. An injury forced him to skip a game last week but now he has recovered from that and is all set to bolster his team, giving them a chance to reap benefits of his experience at international level.
He will be playing for Central Stags against Northern Knights in New Plymouth in the McDonalds Super Smash competition. Heinrich Malan, the Stags coach was contemplated with his addition in the squad and hoped that Ryder would lead the team from the front in the next game, “Jesse’s that x-factor player,” he said.
Jesse Ryder last played for New Zealand in the year 2014 after returning from a coma. He, however, could not play for a long period as he was dropped from his side soon. He is now an active player for Essex in limited overs cricket, contributing his expertise and skills there.
The weekend T20 game will be played on Saturday and will start at 7:10pm at 10, Yarrow Stadium, New Plymouth. Ryder will team up with New Zealand bowlers Ben Wheller and George Worker.
Dean Brownlie will lead the Northern Knights. Corey Anderson, Ish Sodhi are also the part of the squad.
